The speaker—Joan Breibar—only did "Classical" Pilates until 1994. She knows GRATZ and BB and STOTT and PEAK. She asked Patti Kreiner for details: Gratz springs are heavier and provide more resistance. They give immediate, honest feedback if your form is wrong. The leather straps in frame system is non forgiving and heavier than ropes. The carriage has a drag, Feels less fluid than Balanced Body or Stott reformers.

This is why most teachers opt to buy these other contemporary brands of Reformers. Easier for the instructors to use in group classes and for the clients bodies of today.

Gratz keeps dimensions fixed to original specifications. Strap lengths, heavy handles pully system, foot-bar positions, and frame sizes do not have extra modern adjustments. You must adapt your body to the machine.
